Browers Beato Building Wins 2025 National Urban Rehabilitation Award
The Super Bock Group has been awarded the 2025 National Urban Rehabilitation Prize in the “Best Intervention Under 1,000m² – Commerce and Services” category, for the refurbishment and modernization of the former Lisbon Military Maintenance Power Station building, which now houses Browers Beato.
The project, developed by architects Eduardo Souto de Moura and Nuno Graça Moura, respects the building heritage by preserving several original design elements — including the façades, the movable bridge, the stage, and the windows — while integrating a more contemporary and comfortable architectural concept. The construction was carried out by Lúcio da Silva Azevedo & Filhos.
Browers Beato is a multifunctional space that brings together a microbrewery, a restaurant — operated through a partnership with Plateform — and an area dedicated to cultural and brewing-related events and workshops. It is managed by The Browers Company, a spin-off of the Super Bock Group.
The National Urban Rehabilitation Award, held under the High Patronage of the Government of Portugal, aims to highlight the many dimensions urban rehabilitation can take — particularly the most sustainable interventions.
