TOURISM

A dual offer of excellence

Vidago Palace Hotel and Pedras Salgadas Spa & Nature Park.

Two recreational and thermal parks that symbolise excellence in Portugal’s tourist services.

VIDAGO PALACE HOTEL

VIDAGO PALACE HOTEL

Historic, luxurious, impressive, and inviting. When the attributes of a hundred-year-old palace match the welcoming environment of a country house, (almost) enough is said.

This supreme haven known as one of the Leading Hotels of the World is a confirmation of good taste in different latitudes. Starting in the bedrooms or suites, the cuisine, or the Thermal Spa under the reign of Vidago’s mineral water.

In the park, a Golf Course extends triumphantly for 18 holes, which are ideal for this sport.

All of this is two steps away, or if you prefer, 15 minutes away from the city of Chaves.

PEDRAS SALGADAS SPA & NATURE PARK

Almost thirty hectares. Eight kilometres (five miles) slowly running through an intact nature and the origin of Água das Pedras.

Set up on exuberant greenery, it highlights here and there the valuable building heritage. Hence, we have the Thermal Spa, the old Casino, and several hot springs: Fonte D. Fernando, Fonte D. Maria Pia (located in a grotto), Fonte Penedo e Grande Alcalina, Fonte Pedras Salgadas, and Fonte Preciosa.

The PEDRAS SALGADAS Spa & Nature Park is a four-star tourist complex with 18 accommodation units, 16 of which are eco houses and two are tree houses, a contemporary offer for future tourism.

Due to its different tourist, recreational, and thermal aspects, the Park is also an open space for the local community to enjoy.

A word for the Thermal Spa, the renovations of which were signed by architect Siza Vieira, which is set apart by its sophisticated products and a magnificent indoor swimming pool with water circuits, a sauna, and Turkish bath.

There is so much waiting for us in this magical place between Vila Real and Chaves, a little over an hour away from Oporto.

The difficulty to navigate the Atlantic made it hard to transport imported malt forcing CUFP to use exclusively Portuguese malt.

1947

A historic year due to the arrival of Mr João Talone at CUFP, who was responsible for the company’s cycle of expansion and modernisation starting in the 60s as well as the new factory.

The cycle of technological renovations and several works at the Júlio Dinis Factory came to an end, where 17,666 thousand Portuguese Escudos had been invested since 1946.

1955

The production of beer largely exceeds three million litres. Revenues reach a new record – 28 million Portuguese Escudos. It registers a growth of almost 50%.

Four beers make up the Super Bock Selecção range: Munich Dunkel, Bavaria Weiss, Bengal Ambar IPA, and Czech Golden Lager.

It is called Vitalis+ and it brings together the purity of Vitalis mineral water, the freshness of fruit, and a functional benefit. In a partnership with Destilaria Levira, approximately 18 thousand litres of gel sanitisers were obtained from the remains of non-alcoholic Super Bock beer production.

Still this year, the New Gluten-Free Super Bock was released. Tasted by the Portuguese Celiac Association, this beer maintains Super Bock’s flavour, golden colour, lightness, and freshness.
