Carlsberg challenges the Portuguese to go out ‘the Danish way’ and make the most of the end of the day

As part of the “Go out the Danish way” campaign, the brand is launching the “Copo de Saída” initiative, which invites the Portuguese to adopt the after-work habit and set aside time for friends, with activities at around 200 outlets, from the north to the south of the country, until 8 November.

Adopting a more balanced lifestyle is the aim of the “Go Out the Danish Way” campaign, through which Carlsberg aims to promote a healthy work-life balance. To bring this positioning to life, the brand is now launching the “After-Work Drink”, an initiative that invites the Portuguese to finish their working day on time and make the most of after-work socialising: that ideal moment to go for a drink with friends, catch up and extend the get-together beyond working hours.

The initiative follows a challenge launched by Carlsberg to its Instagram community, through surveys on socialising habits during the week and the reasons that make it difficult to leave on time. The responses now serve as the starting point for the “Copo de Saída” (After-Work Drink), an initiative that invites the Portuguese to follow the Danish example, emphasising the importance of making space in one’s routine to enjoy moments outside of work.

When asked what most prevents them from leaving work on time and making the most of the rest of the day, 45 per cent cited a lack of plans for after work, whilst 28 per cent identified the tendency to keep replying to yet another email and another 28 per cent mentioned the difficulty in remembering that it is time to leave.

With the “Copo de Saída”, Carlsberg brings the Danish concept of ‘leaving work’ to life,
turning a reflection on everyday habits into a concrete invitation to switch off from work and make the most of time with those who matter. More than just a late-afternoon drink, the “Goodbye Drink” is an invitation to find a balance between work and personal life and to cherish time spent with friends.
